School Values

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our Vision, Values and Ethos

Vision: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart”   Colossians 3:23

Christian Values and Star Awards. We are always immensely proud of the warm and caring atmosphere within our school which links in to our Christian values and ethos.  To celebrate our core Christian Values, we launched our Christian Value Star Awards in December 2017.

Our Vision and Values are weaved into everything that we do.  At the end of the half-term, staff or children nominate one child per class to receive a Star Award. These are the children who have really demonstrated our values through their actions and attitude. The Star badges are awarded in a special celebration assembly to which the winners’ parents are invited.

Working together, the children and teachers selected a set of key Christian Values which they thought reflected the existing character and the future priorities of our school. These are:

Kindness

Patience

Honesty

Loyalty

Thankfulness

Respect

Within our Christian ethos we aim to:

  • create a culture of learning where children are happy, enthusiastic, motivated and supported by committed and professional staff
  • strive to provide a secure, caring and stimulating environment for our children
  • ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of all children, where each can develop; academically, socially, creatively, physically, morally, spiritually and culturally
  • maintain and develop links with the parish church
  • foster mutual respect, support and collaboration between all adults and children, both within the school and the wider community
  • develop outwardly looking, empathetic children with an understanding of the potential that they have to make a difference within the world that we live in
