Class 1

Welcome to Class 1!

Class 1 is a mix of EYFS children and Year 1 children. We enjoy lots of practical, hands on learning activities in our brand new, beautiful classroom! Our class is always busy and always fun. We enjoy learning our letters and sounds, we love painting, playing in the home corner and we like learning outside whenever we can. Please SCROLL DOWN and enjoy exploring our page!

Please see the "Our Class" link below for some photos of our learning

Reading Books: Your children will get a levelled reading book that is suited to their phonics capabilities and also a reading book that is to encourage reading for pleasure. This is a book they have chosen from school to read and share with an adult at home. Please ensure you write in your child's reading diary, so that we know they are reading at home with you. yes

PE: Please note that Class 1 children have PE on Monday and Wednesday. On these days, please send your children in their PE kits.

Raffle Readers!: We have recently introduced "Raffle Readers" to our class and we are LOVING it. Every time your child reads at home, and it's recorded in their reading diary, they receive a raffle ticket. On a Thursday, the raffle is drawn and whoever is picked receives the "Raffle Reading" bag. Inside the bag is a sachet of hot chocolate, a chocolate biscuit, a book of the child's choice and Ted to cosy up with. We LOVE reading and reading at home is an essential part of the children's education. We hope you enjoy snuggling up with your child and a book too! smiley

Curriculum: Please see the curriculum outlines below for some information on what topics we will be covering in class.

Phonics: Our school uses Twinkl Phonics to teach letters and sounds to our children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Below you can find some resources that might be helpful to supporting your child at home.
