Class Organisation

The children are currently organised into three main classes. Within each class, activities are differentiated to match the ability, educational needs and age of the pupils. Staffing is altered appropriately to reflect class numbers each year.  As the children move through the school, they are provided with opportunities to work and socialise in larger groups to improve their skills and confidence in this area.

Currently the three classes are organised as follows: -

Class 1 (Reception and Year1)

This class is taught by Miss King and Mrs Meynell, supported by teaching assistants.

Class 2 (Years 2 and 3)

This class is taught by Mrs Lamb. Teaching assistant support is in place to support small group work in the morning and afternoon.

Class 3 (Years 4, 5 and 6)

Mrs Kay teaches Years 4, 5 and 6. As well as developing independence for all and preparing our Year 6’s for their transition to their next school, it is also very important that we ensure that all the children are equipped with the expected skills, knowledge and understanding required at the end of Key Stage 2.

Mrs Dawda, the Head Teacher, is a teaching head teacher and therefore teaches across all classes at various times. She regularly covers classes, which means that she is always involved in the day to day teaching of the children and can ensure that teaching is of the highest standard in all areas.
