What a fantastic turnout for our Y3/4 girls, with 7 girls in the race. They worked well as a team to keep their nerves at bay and give each other confidence before the race. All the girls finished in excellent positions with the top four girls securing a silver medal in the team standings. A particular mention to the team spirit with the girls checking that everyone was ok at the end of the race.
4 boys represented Y3/4 in the boys race and showed real grit and determination throughout the race. They held their nerve and positions and showed great team spirit.
Y5/6 girls were represented by 3 of our year 5 girls and 1 year 6. The girls were held at the start of the race for a while but remained calm and focussed and it showed during the race as they all acheived PBs finishes! This fantastic effort was rewarded with a well deserved bronze team medal.
After completing the warm ups for the other teams and cheering them along the way, the Y5/6 boys team were ready and warmed up for their race! With one of the quickest starts ever seen in this race, the boys kept their nerve running at their own pace, which was rewarded as those who'd gone off too quickly fell back into the pack. Josh moved into first place and held onto his lead, increasing the gap between himself and the field taking first position closely followed by Stan and Alex, who finished with smiles on their faces.
Well done to everyone who took part and and to the parents who provided amazing support to the team!!
